Not entirely happy with it, so I may look into other options sometime. I used a spot light with a large area and low intensity to create this effect. I still have an HDR image plugged into my sky shader (Mostly for reflections)įor the sunset renders, I wanted a large specular highlight for where the sun position might be. The skydome has a physical dome in which it emits light, like in real-life. Available 3d model format.obj (Object).fbx (Autodesk FBX).mb (Autodesk Maya) Free download this 3d objects and put it into your scene, use it for 3d visualization project, CG artwork or digital art, computer animation, 3d rendering and other visualization fields. I attempted to split the directional light into 2 (spec and diff), which gave better results, but so far the skydome has been the best. High detailed 3d model of buffalo cartoon animal. Also, the intensity required to light the scene was making the highlights very intense. Overall, this fully procedural water texture material is a must-have for any digital artist looking to create stunningly realistic water scenes. The problem in my previous version was: the directional light I was using, is an infinitely small point in which it emits light from, which is very bad for reflections. Softimage3D was a high-end 3D graphics application developed by Softimage, Co. And with IOR control and roughness adjustments, this material can simulate water in any environment, from calm pools to raging oceans. I changed the main light into a Skydome light with a blurred/low res HDR image plugged into the colour-this is giving me much better spec highlights.
The main changes are the way I handled the specular highlights. I’ve been messing with the water shader I did (in Arnold) a couple of weeks ago and got some better/more artistic results.
